Description
Obsession II systems are natively networked; each system has at least one processor unit (known as an RPU – Remote Processor Unit), which is the ’brains’ of the system, which may be networked to one or more Facepanels – i.e. the actual user interface to the system. It is important to remember that all the actual show data, and the processing for executing cues etc, is all handled by the RPU.
Obsession II has the ability to operate as a full tracking backup console; this meant that two RPUs could be configured to work as a pair, and if one fails due to either software or hardware problems, the other takes over control seamlessly.
